Luna

Horses have had a presence in my life for as long as I can remember. I would tirelessly ask to be around them. I went through the years with others graciously allowing me to spend time with their horses, but nevertheless I yearned for one of my own.

When I first met Luna I knew nothing about her. All I saw was her, black and beautiful, running through a pasture. I was there looking at another horse to lease but Luna caught my eye. I asked, “What about that one?” I thought it couldn’t hurt to simply meet her but, boy, was I wrong. After that first interaction, I was smitten. I was lucky enough to have a family who saw that horses weren’t just a phase; that they were more than that. With their support I finally had a horse of my own.

Luna and I have been a team for almost six years now.

It’s hard to put into words the impact she has had on my life. While she has guided my journey to become a better horse person, she has also guided the discovery of my truest self. She has been with me on the days of my highest highs and lowest lows, ‘someone’ I can always count on to be there. Luna has a calm, grounding presence with eyes that seem to look into your soul and understand without words. She has not only left an impact on me but the many others that I have been able to share her with. Each day with her is a gift and I will carry her essence with me long after she is gone.

It’s hard to put into words the impact she has had on my life ~
